It all started with a little white dog and a dream.
The little white dog is MacGuyver, my West Highland White Terrier and one of the special joys of my life. And, my dream has always been to turn one of my artistic talents into a small business endeavor.

As with any pampered pup, MacGuyver has an extensive wardrobe of bandanas, hats, sweaters, shirts and jackets. On this particular day, I wanted to get him something different and unique to wear. A broad search of dog websites yielded nothing out of the ordinary, just the same usual pet fashions. It was then that I decided to hand crochet a special bandana for him. A web search for patterns yielded no results.

Many, many years ago I learned the art of crocheting. I designed and created afghans for personal use and as gifts for family and friends but have not pursued it since. Instead, I dabbled with other art forms such as designing and creating dried flower arrangements and wreaths or stenciling small objects and furniture. I wondered if I would remember how to crochet after all those years. However, this seemed the perfect opportunity to combine my desire for a new fashion accessory for MacGuyver and my fascination with fiber arts to pursue a small business venture.

A little white dog was my inspiration but a dear Terrier Club friend was my motivation. Through a series of journal entries detailing a life altering experience, this amazing lady provided strength and encouragement to follow a dream…and, to do it now! Within a short period of time, the “Posharoo” scarf was designed and the first one was lovingly hand crocheted. Many more were to follow as my ideas flourished and my dream became a passion. At the same time, Posharoo Puppy Designs was established and the design of a web boutique was initiated.

Approximately eight months later, it is my pleasure to offer a truly unique fashion accessory for the pampered pup…the “Posharoo” scarf. Posharoo Puppy Designs was created with love and the desire to provide an exceptional product, each a work of art!

Sandi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration . She brings many years experience in financial management  as well as her artistry to this business endeavor. She is happily married and resides with her husband, Nick and their westie, MacGuyver in eastern Pennsylvania. Special interests include, the Terrier Club, reading suspense and mystery novels,flower gardening and working as a pet therapy volunteer with the Greater Lehigh Therapy Dogs (GLTD) organization.

MacGuyver holds a Canine Good Citizenship title from the American Kennel Club (AKC) and is a registered therapy dog with Therapy Dogs International .He is an active member of GLTD and brings special joy to those he visits. He is also the only  puppy dog  to be inducted into the Terrier Club's Hall of Fame. My MacGuyver is a gentle spirit with just enough tenacity to make life interesting. He enjoys going for car rides and walks, playing with his toys and zooming. A true Westie!
